What the programme is
seemyfriends sends text messages to help you make plans with friends you have connected with. This is the main way the service works — text messages are not a notification channel bolted onto an app, they are the product.
How you consent
You opt in by entering your mobile number on seemyfriends.net and checking the consent box, or by replying to an invitation from a friend already using the service. We record the date, time, and exact wording you agreed to.
Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing anything.
What we send
- Suggestions — a specific time you and a friend are both free, sent to you both at once.
- Confirmations and reminders — when a plan is agreed, and shortly before it happens.
- Occasional check-ins — asking whether anything has changed, or whether you would like us to keep looking.
- Replies — answers when you text us.
Example:
Coffee with Dave — Thu Aug 21, 10–11am, near Riverside. Reply Y or N by 8pm tonight.
How often
Message frequency varies with how much you use the service and how many friends you connect with. We cap it: no more than a small number of suggestions per week, never more than two waiting on you at once, and never during hours you have asked us to stay quiet. Deliberately not messaging you constantly is a design goal, not just a courtesy.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. seemyfriends does not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier may, according to your plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Stopping messages
- Reply STOP to any message to end all texts. We will send one confirmation and then nothing further.
- Reply START to begin again.
- Reply HELP for help and contact information.
- Reply PAUSE to stop suggestions for a while without leaving.
