seemyfriends

How it works

Most plans between friends die in the asking. Someone has to pick a time, send the message, and risk hearing no — so often nobody does, and a friendship quietly goes six months without a coffee.

seemyfriends removes the asking. You never propose a time to a friend, and you never turn one down.

Signing up

You give us a mobile number and agree to receive texts. Optionally you add an email address and connect a calendar. There is no app to install.

Connecting with friends

You invite someone; they accept. Connections are always mutual — nobody can add you without your agreement, and either of you can quietly stop matching at any time.

Saying you're open

Instead of proposing times, you describe roughly when you are open and what you are up for: "most evenings for the next month, up to a couple of things, within twenty minutes of home." This is the only thing the service asks of you, and it expires — we do not keep you signed up to be matched forever.

You can express this three ways:

Finding a time

In the background, we look for periods where you and a connected friend are both open and both free. If you have connected a calendar, we check whether each period is free or busy — we never see what your events are.

When something fits, we hold the time on both calendars so it does not get taken while we ask.

Asking

We text you both at the same moment with one specific suggestion. Not a list of options — one time, one place, yes or no.

If you both say yes, it is confirmed and goes in your calendars. If either of you says no, or does not reply in time, the hold is released and you are both told only that it did not come together. We never say who declined, and a decline is indistinguishable from a missed reply.

Then we keep looking.

How often you'll hear from us

Rarely, on purpose. A small number of suggestions per week at most, never more than two waiting on you at once, and nothing during hours you have told us to stay quiet. A service that constantly pesters you is worse than no service, so restraint is built in rather than configured.

What it deliberately cannot do

Stopping
